The Invasion of The Furbies!!!

For centuries, mankind has dawned upon the idea that our planet has once been visited by extra-terrestrial. Movies that depict such encounters are E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Close Encounter of the Third Kind, Alien and etc. In 1998, however, a race of small creatures came to our planet to invade all the toy stores across America! What are they? Furbies! What are Furbies and what is their purpose?
Look into my cute and deadly eyes!

These cute but yet creepy creatures came to our lives in 1998 from the planet Tiger Electronics (Hasbro). Presented as an electronic pet for kids, Furbies came in all kind of colors and themes. Now, according to my research, Furbies are supposed to be some kind of hybrid between a hamster and an owl. Just by looking at them, that's exactly what one would think with their cute fur and their big creepy glaring eyes. They kind of remind me of Gizmo from Gremlins. I guess a lot of people also thought the same thing to the point where Hasbro released a Furby-like Gizmo. Just don't get them wet and NEVER feed them after midnight.

We don't die. Put us in water and we multiply!

Now what makes these toys interesting is that they can communicate with each other with an infrared port located in their EYES!!! Once again, creepy! They speak a weird language called Furbish, but they are programmed to speak less Furbish and more English as they "grow". Explain that to your house pet. This aspect of these toys spark an urban legend that Furbies can record and spy on you or whoever possess one! Even the government ban Furbies from intelligence agencies.

World Domination!!!
Regardless of their creepy exterior and the crazy urban legend, Furbies was a hot toy. They sold 14 million units in 1999 and a new line Furbies are being released as we speak. I never owned a Furby and there's two main reasons why. 1) I always thought that Furbies was more of a girl toy as I was getting into Pokemon trading cards and 2) THEY ARE CREEPY!!! I probably will never get over those eyes. Never the less, Furbies are toys that I pretty sure that you will always remember no matter how old you get.
